Golden Guns
Childhood trauma and children´s early experiences with violence have an enormous influence on the individual in terms of his/her biological, psychological, and socio-economic development. It also plays a major role in the establishment of personality and temperament. The question, "What are the causes of violence in children?" is a matter of a great deal of scientific research. Often, emotional problems, social conflicts, the availability of weapons, and the effect of alcohol and drug abuse contribute to violent and homicidal behaviour patterns. While we do not understand all of the causes and their interactions, we know a great deal. There are concrete steps that we can take to recognise and reduce the risk factors associated with destructive and violent behaviors.
The video Golden Guns by Shahram Entekhabi introduces two school kids who are observing the training of a para-military group. From there a mysterious story develops, influenced by the aesthetics of Hong Kong action movies. The story combines the Taoist ritual of burning Joss paper and the gildening of weapons and finally ends in a catastrophe. There are several issues laid in the background of the video: issue of military training in Hong-Kong secondary schools, the fact that Taoist believers are not allowed to have religious ceremonies in schools, and the ubiquity of the practice of burning Joss paper. the burning of Joss paper is a Taoist practice. In Taoism, the burning of Joss paper is an important offering, either to a Taoist deity, immortals, spirits, ghosts, or to the deceased. The type of joss paper being offered differs, depending on divine hierarchies. Each level has its own set of joss paper assigned to it. However, Hell Notes (Money), Rebirth Mantra, and ancient paper money called Xi Qian is never offered. These are reserved for ghost and spirits or lower ranking deities. The intention of burning joss paper is to offer sacrifice which are intangible to the spirit realm. When the fire consumes the paper, Taoists believe that it will materialize in the spirit realm for use by them. In ancient China, when an emperor died all his servants were killed and buried together with his personal belongings to be used in the spirit realm. This continued for centuries until this massacre was found to be inhuman and was replaced with paper as a sacrifice. Nowadays, the Taoist communities still make replicas, human effigies, in paper to represent servants to serve the deceased.

ترومای دوران کودکی و تجربیات اولیهٔ کودکان با خشونت، ازنظر رشد بیولوژیکی، روانی و اجتماعی – اقتصادی بر فرد تأثیر زیادی دارد. هم‌چنین در شکل‌گیری شخصیت و خلق‌وخوی نقش اساسی دارد. این سؤال که «علت خشونت در کودکان چیست؟» موضوع تحقیقات علمی زیادی است. مشکلات عاطفی، درگیری‌های اجتماعی، دردسترس بودن اسلحه و تأثیر سوء مصرف الکل و مواد مخدر، اغلب در ایجاد الگوهای رفتاری خشونت آمیز و قتل نقش دارند. درحالی‌که ما همهٔ علل و اثرات متقابل آن‌ها را درک نمی‌کنیم، اما چیزهای زیادی می‌دانیم. اقدامات مشخصی وجود دارد که می‌توانیم برای شناسایی و کاهش عوامل خطر مرتبط با رفتارهای مخرب و خشونت‌آمیز برداریم

نماهنگ «تفنگ‌های طلایی»، ساختهٔ شهرام انتخابی، دو بچه‌مدرسه‌ای را معرفی می‌کند که آموزش‌های یک گروه شبه‌نظامی را می‌گذرانند. از آن‌جا یک داستان مرموز شکل می‌گیرد که تحت تأثیر مبحث فیلم‌های اکشن هنگ‌کنگی است. داستان، مراسم تائوئیستی سوزاندن کاغذ جاس و طلاکاری اسلحه را ترکیب می‌کند که درنهایت به یک فاجعه ختم می‌شود. چندین موضوع در پس‌زمینهٔ ویدیو وجود دارد: مسئلهٔ آموزش نظامی در مدارس متوسطهٔ هنگ‌کنگ، این واقعیت که معتقدان تائوئیست مجاز به برگزاری مراسم مذهبی در مدارس نیستند و فراگیر بودن عمل سوزاندن کاغذ جاس. سوزاندن کاغذ جاس یک سنت تائویستی است. در آیین تائو، سوزاندن کاغذ جاس یک پیشکش مهم است به یک خدای تائوئیست، جاودانه‌ها، ارواح، اشباح یا به مردگان
بسته به سلسله مراتب الهی، نوع کاغذ جاس ارائه‌شده متفاوت است. هر سطح، مجموعه‌ای از کاغذهای جاس مخصوص‌ به خود را دارد. بااین‌حال، یادداشت‌های جهنمی (پول)، مانترای تولد دوباره و پول کاغذی باستانی به‌نام شیء کیان هرگز ارائه نمی‌شود. این‌ها برای ارواح و اشباح یا خدایان درجه‌ی پایین‌تر درنظر گرفته شده است. هدف از سوزاندن کاغذ جاس، تقدیم قربانی برای قلمرو ارواح ناملموس است. تائوئیست‌ها معتقدند وقتی آتش کاغذ را می‌خورد، در قلمرو ارواح برای استفاده توسط آن‌ها مادی می‌شود. در چین باستان، هنگامی که یک امپراتور می‌مرد، تمام خدمتکاران او را می‌کشتند و همراه با وسایل شخصی‌اش دفن می‌کردند تا در قلمرو ارواح مورد استفاده قرار گیرند. این امر برای قرن‌ها ادامه یافت تا این‌که چون کشتاری غیرانسانی بود، کاغذ به‌عنوان قربانی جای‌گزین شد. امروزه، جوامع تائوئیست هنوز هم ماکت‌ تمثال‌های انسانی را بر روی کاغذ می‌سازند تا خدمتکارانی را برای خدمت به متوفی نشان دهند.
